Certified Postpartum Doula

Trained Birth/Labor Doula

Background:

I have previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant working at a hospital for a year. I was enrolled and attending nursing school at CSULA for a year while pursuing my doula career before I realized doula and birth work are my ultimate passions. My role as a doula is non-medical but I do have a medical background. I volunteered in the NICU as a nursing volunteer at UCLA where I worked with newborn and premature babies during the time frame of my nursing pursuit. Further, I have been working with babies for the last 16 years, including employment as a live-in nanny for 4 young children, then for twin infants before I became a Doula.

Present:

Currently, I am working full-time as a doula, during the day and at night, primarily supporting families full-time in postpartum and part-time through the prenatal period. I have additionally been trained in infant massage, adult and infant CPR, First Aid, infant microbiome and epigenetics, and lactation support. In December of 2023 I completed the UCSD Extended Studies Program for Lactation Education Counseling and am now an LEC, able to provide lactation support to my postpartum clients and individually to those who need basic lactation counseling. I ultimately want to become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) to work alongside my doula practice, of which I plan to apply to the UCSD IBCLC program with a start date of Spring 2025.
